About the event
The creation of silk textiles – from caterpillar to cloth – is a fascinating journey. Learn how silk is transformed from simple “bug spit” into shimmering elegance. Silk specialist Katrina Walker will guide you through the process of growing and processing silk in this interactive lecture/demo. Learn all about silk, including how to reel your own silk from cocoons and even how silk “hankies” are made using whole cocoons and a frame. Join us for an unforgettable textile experience. (It will bring out the "Fabric Nerd" in all of us!)
